Secretive and Self-Improving: Freemasonry

January 25th, 2010

Numerous misconceptions surround Freemasonry – often negative connotations of an old boy network, or yet more heinous insinuations. However, in reality Freemasonry is a positive movement encouraging self-reformation and aiding other people. As a brotherhood, Freemasonry creates a chance for men to congregate and partake in cordial fellowship. Self improvement is a central aspect of being a freemason. The Free Mason society encourages aiding other individuals too, and charity is a real means in which members serve those.

One of Freemasonry’s traditions is not to look for new members. Yet, anyone ought to feel free to approach any current member to seek more information regarding the Craft.

To be a member, you must be male, over 18 years old, and you must meet the requirements of character and reputation, must be of good moral character.

A man who wants to become a member must be commended by 3 members of the lodge he desires to join. He has to understand that his reputation and character must be looked into. After recommendation by the members of that lodge, he will then be included as a candidate for membership in the Free Mason society.

Masons often put on accessories like Union Jack badges that casually advertise their member status to other Masons and also communicate the lodge they belong to.

There’s Gold in that Silence

January 11th, 2010

Can you recall a time where you utilized silence to make a point? If you can consciously recall, you probably know your silence made more than just a point; it made an exclamation point … and without a single word preceding it. Now that’s powerful.

Silence is a widely-known, but rarely used, powerful communication tool. Why is that? Because it can be used to shed light or convey darkness. Utilizing the sound of silence is truly the “master’s” art of communication. It quaintly epitomizes a spiritually and socially acceptable passive assertiveness. The ability to remain quiet confirms that one is in total control. It also confirms that the individual is disciplined and will not be lead into conversations that are counterproductive and energy-draining. Silence can help us listen, keep a secret, serve in love and receive the very core of what is being said. Silence can say “I really do care.”

Have you ever had a conversation where all you were waiting for was for the speaker to pause, just so you could say, what you needed to say? You know, where you start planning to respond to that which hadn’t even been said yet? We all have. When this happens, we don’t absorb the full content of the conversation. Many variables influence our desire to lose focus on what our speaker is saying. For example: your schedule, what you may be watching on TV, your mental, emotional, and physical states and of the like. Listen so that both your brain and heart are passionately aligned to receive the speaker’s words. Strive to increase your understanding and place it before your desire to be understood.

Learn to be comfortable with silence and master the self-control it requires. Only then will you be able to experience the “golden” within.

Be Good for Goodness Sake

October 24th, 2009

If I do good things, will good things happen to me? I remember there was a scene in the end of the movie, The Razor’s Edge, where Bill Murray says, “There’s no reward for a good life.” I think it’s time to explore.

If I do good things, will good things happen to me? For sure, good things will happen to you. Will bad things happen to you? Probably.
It’s a very interesting question, because woven within the fabric of our culture is the Christian ideawhich is a misunderstanding of some people in India also, when we start talking about Karmaand that is, that if I do all the right things, if I’m a good person, then only good things will happen to me. In the New Age philosophy, we’ve even gotten to the point of thinking that if bad things happen to me, it must be that I did something wrong. They go back and try to find the cause: the dirty word that they said or the harsh action that they didthat they mowed their lawn and must have killed insects, so now they have a flat tire today. And it becomes an intellectual game.

Going back to what really happens in the Deity Yoga Practices we’ve talked about: we are creating super-structures within ourselves, organizing structures that have the qualities of our highest possibilities. Basically, that’s why I choose a Deity, a Deity is manifesting love and compassion. As I work with that, I am creating a whole new organizing structure of perception that I’m going to use as the way in which I organize my perception. And because it’s the way I organize my perception, it is, in fact, the Foundation Stoneor Foundation Structurewith which I create. So I’m actually creating, I’m manifesting the qualities of the Deity that I have aligned myself with on a very deep level.

That manifestation is immediate, direct, and very palpable. I mean if you can’t feel it, you know, then you’re idealizing it, you’re not living it. And what we’re trying to do is to get out of the realm in which we just think about being spiritual, and into the realm of Living our Spirituality.

Expert Dating Episode 22: The Great Dating Expert Seeks a Matchmaker

July 12th, 2009

Just about anyone will jokingly call me “Cupid”, for the obvious reason that playing a matchmaker is a my natural job. But I always recommend having Great Expectations. No way around it, serendipity just follows those professional matchmakers around even when you don’t realize it. The most reputable matchmakers, like this dating service Great Expectations Milwaukee, are the the pioneers in dating advice and understand singles personally. Great Expectations dating services coordinate handmade dating recommendations as any good friend does, and that’s dating done right. How is matchmaking done anyway? For Great Expectations, its about getting to know your members and uniting qualified singles who are serious about dating with a purpose.

I’ve casually shared companionship advice on the net and without regret. My latest post isn’t rehashed advice. Everyone remembers this stuff. Listen to social cues, clean up nice, don’t be uncomfortable, be self expressive and (a big one) avoid checking off your dates in your mind. Get to know someone in the moment! Invite spontanaity in any situation. Obviously, don’t exacerbate things hoping to pretend you are anything is not you. Consider ramifications if the date grows meaningful, then you’ll have to reveal your lies. But here’s the secret to dating, I’ve always recommended Great Expectations Milwaukee. Indeed, matchmaking is something I have offered singles since grade-school. My great successes with friends and family helped establish my title. The results can’t go unnoticed.

Look at Leticia and Daniel plus their gaggle of kiddos. I pulled these two at the Kentucky dreby once upon a time, and their magical outcome is evident. Gregory and Lindsay also new it was a match because I introduced them at a wedding a few summers back. But most importantly my sister Ashley and her match made in Heaven. You know I’ll be there when these two head to the alter in Deluth in early September. They’re perfect together and met with Great Expectations, at my suggestion.

It appears I have kept on the mark and very productive at that! But all this time, while I focus on thanklessly helping the single people of the world (hah) realize the attitude needed to build a relationship, I paid little attention to my own dating life. What irony prevails when the matchmaker seeks a little serendipity? I will enjoy Great Expectations Milwaukee Wisconsin, ’cause if one is specialized in an area it’s easy to spot flaws. Perhaps that’s what has kept me from really getting serious about dating. More than most, I know that you can’t live this world without a little help. Here I go, listening to my own tips by impeccable, professional dating advice.

Symptoms of a Panic Attack – Do You Have Horrible Anxiety Attacks

March 14th, 2009

Our globe is chock full of stressors. It appears that the more we evolve with technology and paths to make things more speedily, the more panic anxiety attacks increase. That is food for thought. You would think that bothersome demands and anxieties would lessen with our consistent advancement in technology. Nevertheless, anxiousness and depressive disorder seem more prevalent now than when compared to the past. It is quite possible that in the past, people simply didn’t mention it. Well they certainly make an issue of it these days. Fact is, as a TV watcher, chances are that you have encountered an ad for a medicinal drug, which provides anxiety treatment.

folk are admitting to their troubles in this innovative world of solutions. It might be simply public place aversion or trouble sleeping, researchers keep making progress with new solutions. Panic attacks and depressive disorder are certainly at the top of this long list. When I consider depression, I think of someone who has recently suffered the loss of a loved one or a person who is disabled in such a way that precludes them from carrying on normally. Well this is usually a misconception. Many individuals are pressed down by the burden of panic attacks and natural depression for other reasons. We usually do not know the reasons. The food we consume could easily be a reason. Oddly, contentment with life is elusive to most individuals.

We need to some degree to pay attention to teenagers’ plight. Panic attacks and natural depression seems to be affecting them more than adults these days. Granted, being a teen is tough in some aspects, and unbelievably delightful in others. Some teens may claim that it is all negative. Even I was a teen at one time. We all know what it’s like. Yet, panic attacks were not part of my teen experience. It is challenging to understand the changes of the last ten years. Anxiety attacks should not be a childhood experience. Truth is, anxiety attacks and depressive disorder should be much less frequent than it is altogether.

How My Mom’s Heart Condition Came to Light

October 21st, 2008

Last week my parents were driving back to orange county from Las Vegas when my mom told my father, who was driving, that her heart was feeling funny. When my dad asked my mom what she meant by funny she told him it felt like her heart was running away. Her heart eventually got back to normal;however my dad pulled into the first hospital he could find. In the emergency room my mom was examined and told she had an arrhythmia and needed to see her regular doctor upon returning home. I believe my dad drove way above the normal speed limit the rest of the way home

Yesterday I was exercising at my gym when all of a sudden I felt a shortness of breathe and I came very close to fainting. Being completely scared, yet being the kind of guy I am, I waved off the staff and told them I was okay. When someone suggested I had a heart attack I just laughed it off. Once I felt I could get up without staggering, I made a hasty exit to my car and immediately drove to my doctors office. After explaining what happened to me my doctor told me he believed I had an arrhythmia. He then scheduled some tests immediately.
