Given the current economic state, minimising outgoings and getting the best from what you have is the most effective method of boost profits. Employee performance management software, despite often being forgotten, provides a significant asset for enterprises aiming to do this.

The current state of the economy requires that it’s easiest to ramp up profits by cutting outgoings, rather than by growth of income. An often forgotten asset in this is business performance management software and all of its benefits. Once you know the specific abilities of your members of staff are, it’s possible to tailor your systems to maximize their effectiveness and as a result make the most of the business as a whole. The core trouble lies in finding and tracking this information.

Identifying and keeping track of development through employee appraisal alone can be a significant task. First of all, you set up employee evaluation techniques to evaluate and track work carried out by each worker. The assessment of this data comes next. After all, before you can put it to use defining goals and checking further development you have to know what the raw data actually means. Using performance appraisal software, all you need to do is scrutinize the different metrics to pinpoint what these goals should be and then track the member of staff’s advancement. In this way you remove a significant time commitment and probably also receive more accurate information into the bargain. If you choose to you can instead make your own assessment, simply utilizing the software to produce and update a record to work from.

It goes without saying that it isn’t just the performance of employees that you can improve by advice from performance appraisal software. It can also be worth studying suppliers and clients to better pace your purchasing and conserve money. You’ll have a clear record that will point out which suppliers carry products with the best quality, at the lowest prices as well as distinguish those with high rates of loss or slow delivery times.

When it comes to your retailers performance management software can still provide a better picture there, too, telling you exactly who sells the most of your products, their loss percentage and any similar negatives, and providing a reminder of outstanding payments. Then, you can adjust your ordering and stock handling to boost your profits while reducing outgoing money. Who couldn’t benefit from that? Not only that but a greater understanding of your market will allow more efficient marketing.

You can track your suppliers to reduce costs and watch your target market to make more money employing performance appraisal software. With a program of regular employee assessment such tool can help accelerate employee performance management extremely. With that taken into account, the potential of this system is endless and depends exclusively on your creativity and ability to use what you learn.

There is more to making money than just the income - it's important to be making money cost-effectively. With this in mind, let's turn to the many benefits of that best-kept secret of successful businesses, performance management software...

There is more to making money than income alone – you need to be making money cost effectively. A simple and frequently overlooked asset when doing so is performance management software.

Once you know the specific specialties of each of your staff are, you can adjust your systems to optimize their effectiveness, and thereby make the most of the company as a whole. While this knowledge is highly useful, it is not easy to obtain.

Simply keeping track of staff evaluation and identifying advancement in that performance rapidly becomes a significant amount of work. The first step is to bring employee evaluation systems into play. This allows you to assess the work of each member of staff. If this was done with traditional approaches, you’ll need to study all of that information by hand just to define goals, and track further progress. Using performance management software you can be confident that this analysis is done for you and you need only study the different analyses and factors to know what an appropriate set of targets for this worker would be. It also makes keeping track of the worker’s development much less effort. By doing this you remove a major time commitment and probably also receive more precise information. Should you choose to you can instead make your own analysis, simply utilizing the software to generate and update a record to work from.

It goes without saying that it isn’t only the performance of employees that can benefit from use of performance management software. It’s often worth studying clients and suppliers to be better able to pace your purchasing and conserve money. Knowing which suppliers offer the better quality and best priced products can be a great boon.

Clients have their own metrics of performance, and just as with suppliers and internal questions it’s possible to help your bottom line. You can then adapt your orders and move products around to maximize your income while minimizing expenses. Not only that but the better understanding of your market will permit easier planning for your advertising. You can study your suppliers in order to minimize costs and stay aware of your target market so that you can make more money employing performance management software. With regular talent assessment and employee reviews this application will enhance staff performance management significantly. There doesn’t seem to be any upper limit with performance management software backing you up.

In today’s rough economy, there certainly is no shortage of job applicants. But when you have so many applications, where and how do you start checking their sources to see what they’ve done? It is almost impossible to expect a human resource department or employee to make dozens of phone calls to do Employment Verification. This can be time consuming not only because of the shear number of phone calls you need to place, but not every company will return your call. But how do you check on everyone to maintain the highest level of applicants? You simply hire a company to do the work for you.

Once you have your part completed, the system goes into action. Previous employers listed on the form immediately receive the information to complete forms of Employment Verification to submit to your account. There is also an option to add any pertinent information about said employee they see fit. Once this is done, you will receive and email notifying you that your verification information is available at your account. You can then log in to your account and look at the findings of your request(s). It really is that simple and as long as response time is quick, it is also fast. This truly is the information age.

p>Using that code, the previous company also logs in to the web-based system and completes the verification. While doing so, the company also has the option of rating the employee in categories like punctuality, attitude, and so on. When all the information is completed, the hiring company is notified, and the process is over.Studies suggest that this system has the power to save several hours a week in a busy human resources employee’s job. Such a system, even with the nominal and competitive cost involved for the Employment Verification, is bound to save the hiring companies both time and money. The ability to save with those two commodities is truly music to an HR manager’s ears!

A thriving business depends on the effective management of individuals. People management may be improved and learned. It can be an advantage to have a natural affinity for people, but there are many things you can do that will make the process simpler.

Talent management is critical in reaching the best in your business success. These skills may be improved and learned. It can be an advantage to have a natural affinity for people, however you can do some things that will make the procedure easier.

Relationship Development: Remembering staff by name should be a start. Engage in conversation; get eye contact during a conversation. Do be respectful, and be sure to pay attention to the other person’s point of view, even if you disagree or have another opinion. Developing the ability to listen is among the most effective things you may do to develop your human resource management skills. Encourage any comments from your co-workers.

Live up to your word: Keeping your promises is really important. When you don’t deliver on what you promise, the delicate bond of trust is destroyed, and if they don’t trust you employees certainly won’t offer their best. When you make a statement or give a promise, do be sure you can follow through or don’t bother giving your word at all. To be honest, if your people can’t count on your word, they can’t be trusted on to be there when it’s really important.

Encourage feedback: It’s a two-way street. Human Resources management skills mean having an open mind to all feedback. If you are willing to establish that you are accessible and receptive, you establish that you value your co-worker’s views, your thoughts will be appreciated in return. Encouraging open discourse also opens doors to creative problem solving, original ways of achieving the mission of the team, and develops the team. By allowing the staff a voice, the project and its results becomes important to each employee.

We suggest you review our one of a kind page for individual education plan suggestions…

Communicating is the key: Communication is the key to dealing with individuals skilfully. Maintaining an open door policy, utilize good listening skills, encourage feedback , and allow each of your team members to express their opinions. Encourage staff not only to speak with you, but to talk to each other. The creative process depends heavily on the open exchange of opinions, and in communicating with each other, it’s simple to identify any issues early, and corrections can be applied before things get out of hand.

This will require some time, even so the payoff is worth it. Through establishing the bonds of a good team and demonstrating effective listening skills, a successful business can be achieved.

Here is our list of the Top 7 Questions every client should ask their commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing contractor:

1. Which roofing system is best for our climate and building needs?

It is estimated that defective design & engineering is responsible for nearly 50% of all roofing failures. Critical consideration must be given to drainage, windage, insulation, fire resistance, thermal expansion, tensile strength, puncture resistance, and watertight performance. Certain roofing systems might not work for your building type or location.

2. Is tearing off the entire roof necessary?

One of the top considerations in re-roofing projects is minimizing the environmental impact by reducing or eliminating waste. Ask about roofing systems that can be installed over your current roof.

3. Does the roof system moderate temperatures in summer and winter?

Green and vegetative roofing systems as well as solar panels can help control inside temperatures and even make the roof last longer. The end result would be reduced energy costs and may even improve employee health, well-being, and morale.

4. How long is the warranty? Do you know how long your warranty is?

Ask! Find out if it covers the entire roof system, including installation defects. Be sure to ask if there are any exclusions and fees associated with the warranty for issues like incidental damages and ponding water.

5. Is the roofing system Energy Star Compliant?

At the government’s Energy Star Website, you will find details regarding the minimum standards for the minimum reflectance during specific periods in the roofing system’s life. 65% initial mimimum reflectance and 50% reflectance after 3-years of exposure to the elements are minimum requirements. Another resource for finding out ratings for solar reflectance is the website for the Cool Roof Rating Council. Do you research and you’ll know if your selected roofing system is an energy-efficient one.

6. Is my roofing system eligible for Federal tax deductions?

It may if it meets the standard ASHRAE 90.1. The standard 90.1 was established by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers – the minimum requirements for energy efficient buildings. In 1994, the federal government adopted this standard. Government facilities require a minimum solar reflectance and 75% solar emittance respectively.

7. What kind of recycling program does the manufacturer of the roofing materials offer?

Many manufacturers have recycling programs in place which gather the roofing materials and recycle them once their useful life has ended. The number of different types of products that much of this waste can be turned into continues to amaze us each day. Some examples include, but are not limited to: flooring, roadways, park benches, and yes – turned back into new roofing materials.

There’s no doubt about it; kids love Halloween. They love dressing up in costumes and collecting loads of candy. But did you know that kids also enjoy participating in other fun, creative activities as well? There are tons of interesting ways to entertain a child’s imagination, including simple craft projects and games. Why not take advantage of this amazing holiday by spending some extra time with the children and doing these activities together?

Craft projects are a great way to get your child involved with Halloween traditions. Children love the chance to use and show off their imagination. Why not allow them to help out with the Halloween decorations? Sure, you could go out and spend lots of money on decorations that are already assembled, but wouldn’t it be nice to save some cash by making your own? And as a bonus, you get to share the moment with your children.

Here’s a nifty idea for adding Halloween charm to your porch or patio. Thoroughly clean and remove the labels from empty 2-liter pop bottles and pour a little bit of orange paint inside, replacing lid afterward. Let the kids shake the bottles around until the inside is covered with orange paint. Once dry, allow them to decorate faces onto the outside of the bottles with black paint. Add a green ribbon or bow to the top of the bottle and set on the porch. To lessen the chance of your pop-bottle pumpkins from blowing over, you can add a handful of sand using a funnel.

Another fun project for the kids involves making pumpkin pouches from ordinary paper plates. These creative little pouches will look great hung on the wall or door. Use them for holding candy or other items. In fact, use them all year long. They can easily be created to change as the seasons do. Take two plates and cut one in half. Secure the half plate onto the whole one using either staples or weaving ribbon through punched-out holes. Paint the plate pouch orange and allow it to dry. Decorate the pumpkin with funny or spooky faces and hang (pouch out). You could also have the kids create a festive Halloween handprint wreath for hanging on the front door. Choose autumn-colored pieces of construction paper and trace around your child’s hand. Cut the little hands out and glue them together in the shape of a wreath. These can be further decorated or left as is. The size of the wreath is up to you.

Planning a party? Get the kids to help out with the invitations. Create adorable ghost print cards using their own footprints. Your children will not only enjoy making them, but your guests will love the cute designs as well. Simply grab some black and orange-colored construction paper (amount will vary depending on how many people), white tempera or other washable paint, and some gold gel markers. Lay down some newspaper and fill a shallow container with paint. Fold each piece of construction paper in half and place, one at a time, onto the newspaper. Have each child dip his/her foot into the paint and ’stamp’ the card with a footprint. Allow the cards to dry; afterward, let the kids add a face onto the ghost and print a small message inside using markers. You could use glue for this instead and decorate with glitter.

You could attach some lively little ghost pops onto each card. Just have the children cover a tootsie pop with tissue and secure it in place with a piece of orange or black yarn. Use a marker to add a face to the ghost. These also make fun treats to give out to the trick-or-treaters.

Other interesting ideas for the kids to make and give out to party guests as well as trick-or-treaters include bat bags and candy cups. Use an ordinary brown paper lunch bag and some brown construction paper. Have the kids draw a bat’s head onto the piece of construction paper and cut it out. Let them decorate it with markers, glitter, etc. Fill the bag with treats, fold the top over, and staple (parent/adult should do this). Of course, you don’t need to feel limited to bats; allow them to choose whatever Halloween design they want or one that goes with a party theme.

Candy cups are good for party guests. Simply allow kids to decorate Styrofoam cups with markers relating to Halloween theme. Meanwhile, fill some plastic baggies with individually wrapped candy and tie the tops with decorative yarn or ribbon. Let the kids drop one baggie into each of the cups; these can also contain the names of guests or allow the guests to become involved as well and include the activity as a party event.

While children are always fascinated with creative craft projects, they simply love the opportunity to play. Games are another fun way for them to enjoy the Halloween festivities. Traditional games such as Snap Apple are always a hit. Hang an apple from the doorway with a string and have the children take turns trying to bite the apple, with their hands behind their back. This game was thought to bring good fortunes to those accomplishing the task. Of course, you could give a prize instead.

An interesting alternative to the more traditional Halloween games might include a good old-fashioned game of Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin. This game is played in the same way as Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Create a pumpkin from a piece of orange poster board and draw a mouth and eyes onto it with black marker. Create the nose from a piece of black poster board or construction paper and attach some double-sided tape to the back of it. Blindfold the players, having them turn around a couple of times, then allow them to ‘pin’ the nose onto the pumpkin. Winner gets a small prize.

Halloween isn’t just about the candy or the costumes; nor is it about the ghosts, goblins, or witches. Halloween is an ideal occasion for spending and honoring time with family and friends. From small decorating projects to fun games, the Halloween season offers plenty of easy and interesting activities for the kids as well as the parents.

Use eBay picture service or host your own photos?

If you use the eBay picture service, your first photo is free. But each additional picture will cost you $0.15 and the supersize picture will be another $0.75.

This can cut into your auction profits if you need, let’s say, 3 or 4 pictures showing different angles, and one supersize picture for the “WOW” effect!

So I found a way to have as many pictures I want in my listings without having to pay all these fees to eBay: I do my own image hosting!

They are a lot of image hosting services to choose from online. Some are free, and others charge a small monthly or yearly fee.

Currently I use Photobucket image hosting. They have a free starter package (which gives you 25 MB of disc space) or a premium package (unlimited disc space) to store your pictures. You can subscribe to the premium package for 3 months ($9.00) or one year ($25.00).

Now, how to load your pictures on your photo-hosting service?

First, you have to resize your images. One reason for resizing your photos is that Photobucket limits the size of the pictures you can load – 250 KB for the free package and 1 MB for the premium package.

The second reason is that you don’t want to slow down your eBay listings with huge images! Big pictures take forever to load, and potential customers will hit the back button instead of waiting.

So I recommend limiting each picture to a size of 500 pixels maximum. I use the free Irfanview image optimizer to resize my pictures.

Once your photos are resized, you can upload them to your image hosting service, which is very simple.

For Photobucket, you have to log in into your account. Once you are in, there is a white window on top of the page marked “picture”, with a “browse” button on the right. Click on “browse”, and a new “choose file” window will appear. That window shows the files in your computer. From that window, select the file containing the picture you want to upload to the Internet.

Once you have found the right picture, highlight it with your mouse and then in the “choose file window”, click the “open” button. The name and location of your picture will then appear on the Photobucket screen.

Now click the “submit” button, and voila! Your selected picture is on Photobucket. You can even load several pictures at the same time by using the “submit multiple pictures” feature.

All right, your picture is now on Photobucket. But how do you insert that picture in your eBay listing?

Once your image is hosted on Photobucket, you will have to copy the URL of that photo (which is directly under it) and paste it into your eBay listing. Use the following html code to display the picture correctly in your listing (don’t forget to inverse the quotation marks at the beginning and at the end of this code!); paste your Photobucket image URL where it says “the URL of your picture”:

>img src=”the URL of your picture”<

You can even add a border around your picture, by adding a border code to the above, making it:

>img src=”the URL of your picture” border=8<

By changing the number of your border, you can make it larger or thinner.

Another great advantage of choosing online image hosting is that the quality of your pictures in your auction listings will be much better than with eBay picture services!

So you can have as many auction pictures as you need, with higher image definition, for less money. You can’t beat that.

Good luck!

As the Major League season, in high drama and excitement,
draws to a close, a consideration materialized – long after
the fact it should be confessed – to this scriber about the
blue ending of the Montreal Expos. Gary Carter steps into
the batters box.

Much conspired, not just in theory but in practice, against
Montreal baseball fans. It is true, as close to the truth one
may come or arrive at, that many fans had to contend with
an indifferent city incapable of grasping the potential and
subsequent loss of the perennial bridesmaid club and an
American news media with infield dirt in its eyes.

Fans who, it can be argued, had bestowed upon them a
local Montreal media -not especially poetic in its grace
these long days- which did its best to treat the Expos as if it
were a disowned gay son.

Eventually and surely, matters began to sink into a banal
surreal plot. The subconscious will have to rule this forever
I’m afraid. Fingers, fat and skinny, young and old, black,
yellow and white alike – colors do bleed into one when it
comes time to asserting blame – were pointed furiously in
various directions from the sky to the diamond. Even
chicken hawk fans, those who hid behind various excuses
worthy of a Hitchcock enhanced mystery ploys to not take in
a lousy game, felt compelled to offer their Grade B opinions.

It is no wonder, and unfortunate, that no one spotted an
irony right under our ugly noses. Carter swings and misses
strike one!

The irony spoken of here manifested itself during the move
of the Brooklyn Dodgers to Los Angeles – The big club for
the Montreal Royals. Just as the Dodgers departure from
Ebbet’s Fields had its cast of evil characters filled with the
usual 3-sided con story laden with confusion – indeed
political games, greed and environmental circumstances
made up the usual universal themes. The Expos too had
their neat plot and sub-plot on multiple levels.

The dodging Dodgers had Walter O’Malley, the Ex-Expos
had, for their part in the act, ‘The Inept Small Time
Consortium’, Claude Brochu and Jeffrey Loria. O’Malley
sought to move the Dodgers within various spots from
Flatbush and Atlantic avenues in the center of downtown
Brooklyn. Montreal had an imaginary ballpark in the
artichoke heart of the city seeking to regenerate itself. What
happened next in both cases becomes stranger than Bjork.
Whatever the many possibilities, once the scene ended,
with broken hearts and apathy all around, O’Malley left rich
and despised; much like the exit blueprint for Brochu and
Loria. Los Angeles and Washington simply smelled the
fresh blood. Hopeful plans turned to soot and Gary Carter
swings and fouls down the first base line. Strike two.

History? Sure, there was lots of it in both towns. Not just in
Brooklyn. With history as a discipline dead in the public
mind, we may as well leave the ghost of Jackie Robinson
alone. The wind at Ebbet’s Field and DeLormier Downs
died down long ago. Only whispers of branches, memories
and hopes for glory remain for those who care about such
things.

So there and here it is. An unfortunate ending for two clubs
once part of the same fabric and suit. Both let down by the
brotherhood of Major League Baseball. The Royal/Dodger
connection had indeed come full circle in philosophical
speak. Carter takes strike three! He can’t believe it! Neither
can the fans, Gary. Neither can the fans.

What’s the deal with the hidden job market? Why is everyone always talking about it? What is it?

The hidden job market is comprised of jobs that are filled before they are advertised. It is estimated that about 75% of all jobs are in the hidden job market.

Why? Because employers hate to hire. The hiring process is extremely expensive and time-consuming.

They have to advertise the opening, sort through hundreds of resumes and spend weeks, sometimes even months interviewing and trying to select the perfect applicant.

Employers only hire when they have a need to be fulfilled, and even in that situation they will avoid actively seeking applicants as long as they possibly can.

So how does this help you? How can you find jobs that are in the hidden job market? Most importantly, how can you get interviews for jobs in the hidden job market?

One way is to network – which we briefly discussed in Part One of this course.

While that is one very effective way to find jobs both advertised and unadvertised, it’s not necessarily the fastest way to find a job.

The quickest and most powerful method for accessing jobs in the hidden job market is cold-calling.

Employers love a candidate who is bold and assertive enough to go this route. Cold calling may seem scary at first, but it really isn’t as bad as you think. Many people are afraid of cold-calling for two reasons:

They feel like they are intruding; they think the employer doesn’t want to be bothered. We’ve already learned this isn’t true. Employers like to be “bothered” by someone who can solve their problems or fulfill a need in their company – that way they don’t have to actively seek out prospective employees.

What’s the best way to find out if they have a need?

Call them up and find out!

The second reason people generally don’t like cold calling is because they are afraid of rejection. This is a logical fear, nobody likes to be rejected.

The bad news is, there is no 100% rejection proof method for you to use.

The good news is, in my ebook Resume Writing Secrets Exposed, you will discover a little known psychologically persuasive phrase that, when used properly, almost never fails.
