Finding the Best Drug Treatment Program in Seattle

September 25th, 2009

Seattle Drug & Narcotic Center, also known as Seadrunar, is known as the best drug treatment program in Seattle. Founded in 1968, this is a long-term drug and alcohol treatment facility that is one of the finest in all of the Northwest.

Along with treatment facilities in Seattle, Seadrunar also has an aftercare apartment for its patients. The facility provides services to many people through the year, and also has a daycare facility for children of patients. The drug treatment program at Seadrunar is a residential program that has therapy and employs behavior modification techniques to help the patients recover from their addictions.

All patients are monitored around the clock by staff. Therapy helps the patients understand and change the dysfunctional behavior. All patients go through evaluation when they enter the program and receive two mandatory one-on-one counseling sessions every month. Some patients, however, may need more that two sessions and therefore staff is available on hand to provide this extra counseling.

It is expected that while in the facility the patients will follow the rules, and breaking of rules will result in the facility informing the parole officer or the court of the violations. Patients with an openness and willingness to work on their problems do find it easier to settle in and go through therapy faster than those who are unwilling; therefore all patients should be willing to enter the facility.

To be eligible to enter the facility as a patient, you must have a drug or alcohol related problem. You must also be over 18 years of age. Patients who have a history of mental illness need to submit a copy of a recent psychiatric evaluation. Patients who are dependent on drugs are required to complete detoxification before entering the facility. Sex offenders and those with a history of sexual violence are not allowed to enter the facility.
